At the academy ground of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Mushfiq reached the magical three-figure mark on the final day of the second round of the National Cricket League (NCL) against Dhaka.
Before being dismissed as the last batter, he played a composed yet commanding innings of 115 runs, featuring eight fours and two sixes.
Bangladesh are set to face Ireland in the first Test at the main Sylhet ground next Tuesday. If all goes according to plan, the second Test of the series in Mirpur will mark Mushfiqur Rahim’s 100th appearance in Test cricket.
Ahead of that highly anticipated milestone, the 38-year-old chose to sharpen his form in the NCL and did so in fine style with a superb century.
This was Mushfiqur Rahim’s 19th first-class century, 12 of which have come in Test cricket. His previous century in domestic first-class cricket came in the 2022 NCL, when he scored 110 for Rajshahi.
