After nearly a decade of waiting since becoming an official division in 2015, Mymensingh will finally make its debut in the National Cricket League (NCL) this season.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that Mymensingh will replace Dhaka Metro in the competition’s longer format, marking a major shift in the domestic cricket structure.

The NCL T20 tournament is scheduled for September, but as the fixtures are already set, Mymensingh will not feature in the shorter format this year. However, they will take part in the upcoming four-day format of the National Cricket League.

BCB Umpires Committee and Media Committee Chairman Ifthekhar Rahman Mithu said, “Mymensingh became a division quite a few years ago. This time, we decided that in the longer version of the National League, Mymensingh Division will play instead of Dhaka Metro. Since the NCL T20 schedule has already been finalized, they won’t be part of that format this year.”
