The controversy began after Hridoy, despite being banned for two matches, returned to action after serving only one, leading to widespread criticism and confusion.

He played against Agrani Bank on April 20, just one match after his suspension was announced, raising questions about the transparency of the process. Various BCB officials gave conflicting explanations at the time.
The incident ultimately led to the resignation of Enamul Haque Moni as the convener of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) technical committee. BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim has since taken over the role and clarified the board's new stance.

Speaking to the media on Thursday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Fahim acknowledged the procedural error.

20 Apr 25"I believe we went slightly off track in terms of process. The decision to allow him to play after one match was made by altering internal bylaws, which was beyond the committee's jurisdiction. From now on, we will adhere to the original rules," Fahim stated.
"Unfortunately, we cannot reverse what already happened, so we are accepting the Agrani Bank match as valid. However, the remaining suspension will now be implemented in the next match. Accordingly, Towhid Hridoy will not be allowed to play against Gazi Group."
Mohammedan Sporting Club are set to face Gazi Group Cricketers on April 26, and Hridoy will miss that match to serve his second and final match suspension.
