In response, Debabrata Pal has filed a counter-complaint with BCB President Faruque Ahmed, accusing Niamur Rashid of personal attacks, abuse, and threats during the same meeting. He also expressed disappointment at the Umpires Committee's inaction.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Debabrata demanded the release of the meeting’s audio recording to expose the truth:
“The head of the Umpires Committee suggested recording the meeting. All the evidence is in that audio. I’m demanding that it be made public. Once it’s released, it will be clear who actually used abusive language that day.”
Debabrata said the altercation began when he emphasized the need to follow protocol:

“If a player commits an offense, he should definitely be punished — that’s very clear. When I spoke about following protocol, international match referee Niamur Rashid (Rahul) said, ‘Why are you pointing your finger while speaking?’ Then he verbally attacked me using extremely vulgar language and even threatened me, saying he would deal with me later. He also made inappropriate comments about my parents — all of which is on the audio recording.”
Recounting the incident further, he added: “After hearing those words, I got upset and left the room. The Umpires Committee chairman tried to stop me, but I walked out. I didn’t say anything else. Later I felt I needed to submit a written statement. I waited a few days to see if the chairman would take any steps — but he did nothing. So this morning, I sent a letter to the board president outlining everything.”
The BCB has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
