Yes, you read that right: A Sri Lankan player hit 7 sixes in one over. This unique feat took place in an U15 Goodness Cup final game between FOG and Dharmapala Qottawa. When young Navindu Pohasara came in at no. 3, little did he know that he would end up becoming a source of viral content on the social media.

Batting first, FOG made 283 runs from 36 overs, thanks to the heroics of Navindu. The youngster scored a brilliant 109 from 87 balls and hit 7 sixes in one over, owing to no-ball which he dispatched for a six.

This unique feat makes him the only player to hit 7 sixes in one over. Prior to his, many players have hit 6 sixes in one over—namely Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Sing—but 7 sixes in an over is a never done before feat.

And as usual, Navindu became an instant viral content on the social media following his display. He also received a man of the match award from the hands of Sri Lankan legend, Muttiah Muralitharan, who didn’t shy to express his happiness and praised the youngster for his feat.

Given the way the Sri Lankan team has been free-falling into mediocrity, this comes as a good news for the fans and board. They will be hoping that Navindu grows up to be a world class player that will help Sri Lanka return to the days of glory.
