I still have a long way to go : Rahi

Bangladesh pace bowler Abu Jayed said on wednesday that he still has a long way to go as far as cementing his place in the ODI setup is concerned.
Jayed who picked 5 wickets against Ireland in only his second ODI is yet to make permanent place in the ODI set up despite being a permanent fixture in the Test.

“Of course I feel good. At first I just wanted at least one wicket and thought two wickets will be far better.I have gained confidence, but have a long way to go still.” Jayed told reporters after shunning his critics through his noteworthy performance.
People are talking about Abu Jayed Rahi for quite some time now. His inclusion in the 15 men World Cup squad raised few eyebrows. Many people preferred pacer Taskin Ahmed over Jayed. But it seems like his 5 wickets against Ireland on Wednesday sealed his spot in the squad.
On Wednesday Rahi have shown us his class with ball. He swung the ball both ways at the beginning of his spell and picked up 4 wickets with the old ball. This swing and line can be useful for Bangladesh in the upcoming world cup. He had an ordinary debut match against West Indies, he gave 56 runs in 9 overs without taking any wicket.
Abu Jayed Rahi has always been successful in the first class cricket. He took 227 wickets in just 76 matches. Rahi made his test debut for Bangladesh in 2018 against West Indies and took 3 wickets in his test debut.
But Rahi admits he was nervous in his debut ODI match but captain Mashrafe Mortaza have calmed his nerve.
“I felt pressure in the debut match. But today there was no pressure. Mashrafe vai always told me to bowl the way I want. The way I ball in Dhaka League or in Premier league. He told me to bowl without any hesitation and told me to do whatever I like.I tried to follow his words.”
Abu Jayed Rahi also got the man of the match award after taking five wickets against Ireland. And at the end Rahi dedicated his award to his mother.
