Bangladesh Test captain Najmul Hossain Shanto called for a safer society for children and wrote.
“We want a society where every child can smile safely and grow up with dreams, not fear. No life should come to such a tragic end. May Allah grant her Jannatul Ferdous, and may those responsible receive punishment that becomes an example for society.”
ODI captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz also demanded swift action and stressed the need for collective responsibility.
“Bringing the perpetrators of this and similar incidents under the law as quickly as possible and ensuring the highest punishment is extremely important. We all need to be more aware and united against violence, abuse and all forms of oppression. Ensuring a safe childhood, dignity and a humane environment for every child is our collective responsibility.”
T20I captain Litton Das shared his reaction from the perspective of a parent, writing: “As the father of a daughter, hearing this news is extremely heartbreaking and disturbing. No society can accept such an incident. Our children deserve a safe world where they can grow up without fear. Justice for any wrongdoing is necessary, and in this case that justice must come immediately. The strictest punishment is deserved for such crimes.”
Former Bangladesh captain and BCB ad-hoc committee president Tamim Iqbal also joined the calls for justice by sharing a post demanding accountability over the incident.
Shakib Al Hasan also strongly condemned the incident, joining nationwide calls for swift justice and stricter punishment for crimes against children.
“A child’s cry is not just the grief of a family, it is the echo of a society’s failure. Those who destroy innocent childhood through brutality like rape and murder are enemies of humanity. Delayed justice only increases the courage of injustice. I demand the fastest and most exemplary punishment for Ramisa.”
The cricketers used their platforms not only to seek justice but also to highlight the importance of creating a safer environment for children and preventing such tragedies in the future.
