Bangladesh cricket witnessed a landmark moment today as Mushfiqur Rahim stepped out at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur to mark an extraordinary milestone, becoming the first Bangladeshi in history to feature in 100 Test matches.

The atmosphere was electric, fans filled with pride, and the entire cricketing fraternity celebrating one of the game’s finest servants.

Amidst the excitement, Mushfiqur’s longtime teammate, Shakib Al Hasan, shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook.

Alongside a photo of the duo, Shakib wrote:

"I remember your very first Test at Lord’s. I watched every delivery from the recreation room at BKSP. From that day, you became a source of inspiration for me and for countless cricketers across Bangladesh and beyond. You’ve been giving your all to the game for so long. From those early days when you captained age-level teams, I always saw you as my leader, and for as long as I play cricket, you will remain my captain. Mushfiq bhai, I congratulate you on reaching this remarkable 100-Test milestone. Just like I watched your debut, I’ll be watching every ball of your 100th Test. I wish I could have shared the field with you today to celebrate your success together."

Mushfiqur, who made his Test debut at Lord’s in 2005, has been at the heart of Bangladesh cricket for 20 years. With 6,351 runs at an average of 38.02, including three double centuries, he stands as the nation’s highest run-scorer in Test cricket.
