Former Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Jahanara Alam has accused former national women’s team selector and team manager Manjurul Islam Manju of sexual harassment.

In a recent interview with sports journalist Riasat Azim, Jahanara broke down in tears while describing how the former cricketer had made inappropriate advances toward her.

According to Jahanara, she had reported the harassment to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) multiple times, but no action was taken. However, the interview has now drawn the board’s attention. BCB had earlier assured that a committee would be formed to investigate the allegations.

On Saturday, BCB announced a three-member investigation committee, which has been tasked with submitting its final report within the next 15 working days.

The committee includes BCB director Rubaba Dowla, former Appellate Division Justice Tariq-ul Hakim, and Supreme Court senior advocate Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla.
