Bangladesh’s batting woes continued in Chattogram as the hosts suffered another familiar collapse to end the T20I series on a disappointing note.

Despite a bright start, the Tigers once again faltered under pressure, losing the third and final T20I to West Indies and with it, the series 3–0. Adding to the misery, wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan and pacer Shoriful Islam both sustained injuries during the match, leaving the Bangladesh camp with fresh concerns.

Both players are currently under medical supervision.

The incident took place during the second in Chattogram. After the drinks break, play resumed. In the 11th over, Akim Ogis flicked the first ball from Sheikh Mehedi for a single to deep mid-wicket. With Litton Das taking up wicketkeeping duties, Sohan was fielding inside the ring.

Suddenly, television cameras showed Sohan collapsing on the ground, clutching his ankle in pain. BCB physiotherapist Bayejidul Islam rushed in to provide immediate treatment, but the discomfort persisted. Unable to put any weight on his foot, Sohan had to be stretchered off the field.

He was later taken to a hospital for an X-ray, which fortunately revealed no major fracture. However, pain and swelling remain in his ankle.

A reliable BCB source confirmed to Cricfrenzy that Sohan has been seen walking with the aid of crutches.

The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter is expected to meet with the BCB medical team in Dhaka on Sunday (November 2) for further assessment.

Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam also sustained an injury in the same match. Given an opportunity in the final T20I, he bowled two overs for 12 runs.

Despite bowling two overs in his initial spell, Shoriful did not return to the attack later in the innings. It was later revealed that he had suffered a hamstring injury.

An MRI scan has already been conducted, though the extent of the injury has not yet been confirmed by the BCB medical team.

If it turns out to be a grade-one strain, Shoriful could be sidelined for two to three weeks, a grade-two injury would mean a longer recovery period.
