BCB declares Tk 1,398 crore reserve before BCB election

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially disclosed its financial standing ahead of the much-anticipated October 6 election.

While estimates of the board’s wealth have long circulated from Tk 900 crore to Tk 1,300 crore, the current committee has now confirmed leaving behind a staggering Tk 1,398 crore in reserves.

Late Monday night, following the final meeting of the current committee ahead of the upcoming elections, BCB director Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu addressed the media in Mirpur.

“We (the current committee) are leaving behind nearly Tk 1,400 crore,” Mithu stated. “To be precise, the amount stands at Tk 1,398 crore, including FDRs, cash in hand, and cash in bank.”

The BCB election is scheduled for October 6, where Aminul Islam Bulbul will challenge Tamim Iqbal for the presidency along with Faruque Ahmed.
