Ahead of the Asia Cup and the upcoming series against the Netherlands, Towhid Hridoy has not yet joined the ongoing Bangladesh team camp. Earlier reports stated that the 24-year-old batter was scheduled to join the skill camp in Sylhet directly on August 20, as he was said to be in England for hair treatment.

However, Hridoy has now clarified his situation through a Facebook post, dismissing rumors about his whereabouts.

“I have been in Bangladesh for several days. Since morning, I’ve been taking my mother for cancer treatment at a hospital in Enayetpur, Sirajganj. At such a time, so many phone calls just to verify whether I am in England or Turkey… How low will you go for view business? Even though I am a public figure, I am also a human being. I can have personal problems too. I might not always be in the best mental state. I haven’t been able to pick up calls, so I’m clarifying it here,” Hridoy wrote.
