The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made a series of significant decisions after a marathon six-hour meeting held on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The meeting, attended virtually by BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul from Australia, made important decisions about changes in domestic cricket, new appointments, and updated policies to prepare for the upcoming season.

Key Decisions from the BCB Meeting:

Domestic Restructuring: Mymensingh Division will replace Dhaka Metro in the first-class format of the National Cricket League (NCL) from this season. Dhaka Metro will continue to participate in the NCL T20 tournament starting September 14, as the schedule has already been confirmed.

Support for Athletes: BCB will build a house for Bangladesh women’s national footballer Ritu Porna Chakma.

Anti-Corruption Move: Former ICC Anti-Corruption Unit head Alex Marshall appointed as a one-year consultant to BCB’s anti-corruption unit.

Turf Management: Australian curator Tony Hemming returns as Head of Turf Management on a two-year contract.

Coaching Staff: Julian Wood appointed as specialized batting coach; contract of sports psychologist David Scott extended.

BPL Management: Final decision on the event management company for the next Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) to be made within two to three days from among five applicants.
