The decision was announced today (Saturday) by BCB Director and Media Committee Chairman Ifthekhar Rahman Mithu following a board meeting.
Ritu’s current home in Rangamati is very modest, made with bamboo walls — a condition that has previously drawn attention in both the media and on social platforms.
Mithu stated, “The BCB will build a house for national women’s footballer Ritu Porna Chakma.” However, while the construction has been announced, no timeline has been provided for when the work will begin.
The BCB has a history of standing by Bangladesh’s women footballers in times of need. Following the SAFF Championship victory, the board rewarded the players and also supported them on foreign tours.
