BCB to observe national mourning day tomorrow

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a series of solemn initiatives to mark National Mourning Day on Tuesday, 22 July 2025, while paying tribute to the victims of Monday’s tragic fighter jet crash at Milestone School & College in Dhaka.

As part of the observance, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) and all other BCB venues across the country. Special prayers will be offered for those who lost their lives and for the recovery of the injured in the devastating incident.

Before the start of the second T20 International between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the SBNCS tomorrow, a minute’s silence will be held to honour the victims. Players, match officials, and team management from both sides will wear black armbands as a symbol of mourning.

In a further mark of respect, no music will be played at the venue throughout the match.
