Shakib Al Hasan cleared to bowl again after action assessment

Shakib had previously failed bowling action tests in both England and Chennai. To rectify his action, the Bangladesh all-rounder had been working closely with Surrey's head coach, Gareth Batty, for the past few weeks. After extensive training, he underwent another bowling assessment in England.

His bowling action first came under scrutiny during a County Championship match for Surrey against Somerset in September 2024. Following an independent assessment that found his action illegal, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) imposed a suspension.

He has been absent from international cricket since Bangladesh’s Test series against India between September and October 2024. After that tour, he was unable to return home due to widespread student protests.
