Bangladesh leg spinner Aminul Islam said that ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal helped him to get his ailing father admitted in the hospital.

The whole medical system has taken a hit because of the coronavirus pandemic. Many are rushing to the hospital only to get no help. Many patients in critical condition are not being able to get admitted.

The same happened to national team leg spinner Aminul Islam Biplob. He rushed from one hospital from another to admit his ailed father but all was in vain.

Biplob tried to admit his father in five hospitals in the last couple of days but could not.

Seeing no other way, he contacted ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal for help. And courtesy of his help, Biplob could finally get his father, Abdul Kuddus admitted to the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute in Mirpur on Wednesday evening.

"I called Tamim bhai seeing no other way. Also, I called our manager Sabbir bhai. Tamim bhai told me to wait a minute. Tamim bhai talked to an acquainted doctor at the Heart Foundation and managed the admission of my father and I got him admitted,’’ said Biplob.

"He is alright now. Looks like he is better now. He has been kept in isolation in his ward now. He has been tested for the coronavirus in the morning. The doctors said that he will be treated accordingly after getting the test results,’’ he said.

"My father has asthma. He was facing trouble breathing for the last 2-3 days. When I saw that his situation was critical, I contacted a few hospitals to get him admitted. All of them told me to get him tested first. Seeing the test results, they were not admitting him. They were saying that they will not admit patients with breathing problems,’’ he added, who  played seven T20Is for the national side, picking up 10 wickets.
