In what would further disgrace his already-maligned name, Nasir Jamshed has been banned for one year after being found guilty of obstructing the ongoing investigation to catch the players guilty of spot-fixing. Earlier this year in February, Jamshed was suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Anti-Corruption Code as a result of their investigation of the 2017 Pakistan Super League.

Jamshed, who is reportedly the prime suspect for the issue, has, according to DawnNews, been banned for a year after being found guilty of being an obstruction for the investigation and not cooperating with the PCB.

Earlier, Sharjeel Khan was banned for 5 years for his involvement in the PSL spot-fixing. However, the length of the ban was shortened to just one year and eleven months.

Sharjeel is not the only one, however, as Khalid Latif was also banned for 5 years and fined 10 lac rupees for his involvement in the disgraceful spot-fixing scandal.

It seems as though Pakistani players are hell bent on worsening their names by embroiling themselves in spot-fixing scandals. As if their names haven’t been tainted enough already, these news and rumours are just going to further fuel the bad name and reputation of Pakistan cricket.
