Mohammad Sami: Board calls him over spot-fixing probe

Pakistani pacer, Mohammad Sami, has been summoned by the
Pakistan Cricket Board over spot-fixing probe in the Pakistan Super League,
according to Geo TV Pakistan. The pacer will be questioned by the
anti-corruption tribunal. Sami plays for Islamabad United in the PS and arrived
at the PCB headquarters for the meet.
Earlier, the likes of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have
already been suspended for 5 years for their involvement in the spot-fixing
furor after being found guilty of malpractice. Meanwhile, fast bowler Irfan
Khan and all-rounder, Mohammad Nawaz, were also found guilty and have been
suspended for 12 and 2 months, respectively.

Sami, who plays for Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier
League, was the team’s best bowler 11 wickets from 9 games at an average of
just over 21. However, it must be noted that Tribune Pakistan claim that PCB
have summoned him due to allegations against him over spot-fixing at the Bangladesh
Premier League.
Whatever be the case, the fact that Sami has been called up
by the PCB for questioning purposes indicates towards a serious issue that
could cause Sami his career. It also pushes Pakistan’s reputation further down
as so many Pakistan players have been linked with these infamous cases.
