Speaking at the BPL Music Fest held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Asif expressed optimism about introducing new elements to the tournament.
In his brief address, Asif announced the inauguration of BPL 2025, emphasizing the efforts to revamp the tournament.
“After a long struggle, we are now building a new Bangladesh. As part of this vision, we are taking steps to reform every sector, including the BPL. This season introduces initiatives like a theme song, a mascot, and other innovations. The BCB is working hard to make the on-field experience enjoyable. The Honorable Chief Advisor (Muhammad Yunus) has also been directly involved in these efforts. I hope this year’s BPL will reflect the spirit of a new Bangladesh and be thoroughly enjoyable for everyone,” Asif said.
The music fest began shortly after 4 PM with a performance by the band ‘Avoid Rafa.’ Following a 20-minute intermission, BCB President Faruque Ahmed delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the board's efforts to make this season special.
BCB President echoed similar sentiments in his speech, expressing hopes for exciting performances on the field.
“We’ve already done a lot for the BPL. Under the guidance of the Chief and Sports Advisors, we’ve launched a theme song and unveiled graffiti. Several events have taken place, and now we are eagerly awaiting the main event—the matches. My biggest hope is that the players perform at their best,” he said.
The main attraction of tonight’s show is Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
