In the Last BPL, held in February this year, Imran played three matches for Rangpur. He delivered an exceptional performance in one of those games, claiming 5 wickets for just 26 runs and earning the Player of the Match award. In the other two matches, Tahir also bowled effectively.
"I would like to win it for Guyana, and for personal reasons as well. I played for Rangur Riders in BPL last year and have not got my all contract money," Tahir said before stepping onto the field for Guyana Amazon Warriors in a Global Super League (GSL) game against Rangpur on Wednesday.
"Guyana has brought their local players, they can earn some money, play some good cricket, and show them, we are better human than them (Rangpur Riders)," Tahir added.
The BPL has often been marred by controversies, with issues surrounding player payments being one of the most frequent. The next season of the tournament is set to begin on December 30. However, ahead of the new edition, a foreign cricketer has leveled serious allegations against the Rangpur Riders.
Tahir's team lost the match by 15 runs as the Nurul Hasan Sohan-led Rangpur kept their GSL final hopes alive.
