AUSTRALIAN BATSMEN KISSED AND MADE UP

Bancroft seems absolutely fine with the incident that took place at Adelaide Oval. He got dismissed at just 10 runs because of a misunderstanding at the emergent stage of his partnership with Warner, after seeing off the initial spells of Anderson and Broad.

After Moeen Ali’s misfielding at cover, Chris Woakes picked the ball as Bancroft fell short of his ground.

"He probably made a bit of a mistake. I trusted his call and he was very definitive in that and then changed his mind," Bancroft told reporters on Monday.

"Talk about Mother Cricket coming back and biting you on the a*se ... I was thinking about a month ago that I hadn't been run out in a four-day game (for a few years).

"Just a one-off ... an accident."

Bancroft and Warner built a 173 runs partnership in the 2nd innings of the opening Test, which made its mark as the highest partnership in a 10-wicket victory.

As Bancroft and his teammates are looking forward to winning the third Test and reclaiming the Urn, he noted that he and Warner had "kissed and made up".

"He's been great. We've got to know each other personally a little bit and the more we play cricket together the more relationships and partnerships develop," Bancroft said ahead of the third match that starts on Thursday.

"One thing we've both done quite well is been able to get off strike ... we've got a lot of singles and that's probably a pretty good reflection of your ability to function (together) really well."

Justin Langer, Bancroft’s coach at West Australia and also his childhood hero, has admired his ability and the way he developed his batting in recent times.

"He feels comfortable in his own skin. He's not trying to prove to be anyone else," Langer said.

"That's one of the most important traits you can have if you're going to be successful in international cricket."

Putting no pressure on the opener, he indicated that Bancroft doesn’t have to be someone else to make his mark.

"He doesn't have to be David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Shaun Marsh, Gordon Greenidge or Desmond Haynes, he's got to be Cameron Bancroft."
