Bumrah sustained a stress-related lower back injury during the final Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Sydney on January 4, ruling him out of the Champions Trophy, which India won earlier this month. This marks his first back injury since undergoing surgery in March 2023.

It remains uncertain how many matches Bumrah will miss or the exact date of his return.
