Ahead of Bangladesh’s upcoming match against India, Hamza arrived in the country today. Speaking to journalists in his hometown of Sylhet, he responded to questions about being compared to Shakib. "Shakib Al Hasan is a mega star. He has been the best in the world for many years. I don’t want to be compared to him," said Hamza.
Born on October 1, 1997, in Leicester, England, Hamza Choudhury grew up in the Leicester City Academy system, where he honed his skills. Before committing to Bangladesh, he represented England at various youth levels, even playing in the U-21 Euro squad.

Despite being a Leicester Academy graduate, Hamza made his professional debut for Burton Albion, featuring in 28 matches over the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, providing one assist.
In 2017, he officially started his Leicester City career, playing in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
However, one regret remains—he has yet to feature in any European competitions. During his time at Leicester, he registered four assists and scored two goals. Apart from Leicester, Hamza also played for Watford in the 2022-23 season. Currently, he is playing for Sheffield.
