According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the left-arm spinner has been prohibited from bowling in competitions governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The decision came after umpires flagged concerns about Shakib's bowling action during his stint with Surrey in the County Championship. 

In response, the ECB swiftly imposed a ban on Shakib, preventing him from bowling in all domestic tournaments under their jurisdiction.

Shakib will now be ineligible to bowl until he has passed an independent re-assessment of his bowling action.
