Despite the matches being postponed for an indefinite period due to the coronavirus pandemic, right now Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] is carrying out their activities online.
The first coronavirus infected patient was found on 8 March in Bangladesh. A week later, the country's sport was suspended. From March 17, the sports ministry suspended all sports in the country. BCB also followed the direction given by the government. BCB lockdown their office on 22 March. Since then, BCB officials are working from home online.
Despite the government has granted vacation we are working remotely from our home said BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury to a leading newspaper on Thursday 9 April.
Nizamuddin said, "We have to work online even though a national holiday has been imposed by the government. We have been doing remote office since 22 March. We all are contacting with everyone. Whenever we are in need of anything the 'Supporting Managers' are supporting us. Everyone is doing their work.
We do have a lot of work to do outside of sports or cricket. There are national team tours, tournaments, especially there are particular departments who are engaged with the international issues. They are not closed, those works are ongoing," He added.
The ICC's headquarter is also lockdown like BCB. The World crickets' highest regulatory body is also running online. There was also an online ICC meeting late last month. CEO Nizamuddin said that the member countries of ICC have to do a lot of online work.
He said, “Every cricket playing nation board is being contacted. There are ICC events upfront. ICC has different requirements at different times. We have to provide them that. We are attending the ICC's teleconferences. Just like on Monday there was a teleconference on 'anti-doping'. There is a conference again tomorrow. This things are regular."
Beyond this online world, there are some people who are working on the field, in cricket venues. All the cricket venue in the country has a limited range of field workers. The dedicated staff are keeping the field ready so that the matches can be played as soon as the situation gets better. And the security personnel are also working wholeheartedly.
