Changes are necessary in BCB, says Abedin Fahim

Veteran coach Nazmul Abedin Fahim called for the reconstruction of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), stating the board has been an indiscipline organization throughout the years.
In the wake of former PM Sheikh Hasina's resignation and departure from the country, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon also left the country, leaving the board in a vulnerable state.
Fahim criticized the former BCB members, accusing them of not taking responsibility for the board, condemning them for pursuing their own agenda instead of serving cricket.
“Since I have had the opportunity to observe closely, I don't think the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) is a very disciplined organization. From the outside, its glamour might make it look different,” said Fahim to the media.
"The opportunities were not properly utilized by the BCB. I think if we can work out things properly, Bangladesh cricket can be taken far. If they truly served cricket, they would have acted accordingly. I don't think they were servants of cricket; they had their own agenda. That agenda has been implemented, and we have seen what has happened to cricket. Whether it's club cricket or the entire game, it has been ruined,"
Fahim also recognized the potential changes that needed to be addressed by the board for rebuilding.
"There are several reasons and I believe that changes are necessary. The internal indiscipline is crucial to be addressed, as strengthening these aspects could help resolve various crises. Implementing a structured process will be essential in the future," he said.
"This is exactly what we have been thinking about year after year, especially me. Where can we make progress, and where are the shortcomings? Do we have the resources to overcome these challenges? I might discuss this further in the future. There are areas where we are lagging behind, yet there is no reason for us to be behind in those areas," he added.
