Papon: No one more serious than Shakib

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president stated that he has observed changes in the newly announced captain Shakib al Hasan. He also said that there is no one more serious than the all-rounder.
The BCB boss announced Shakib as the ODI captain for the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup on Friday. Papon admitted that nobody is more serious about cricket than Shakib.
"There's no doubt about his potential. One thing I feel very good about, in recent times... watching over the last one year... is that I had doubts about Shakib, it's my personal opinion, how serious he is, what game he will play. Nor will he play ... Now I see there is no one more serious than him, about cricket," Papon said.
Papon lauded Shakib for maintaining tight schedules and keeping his focus at the same time. Shakib is currently playing the Lanka Premier League (LPL) after his Global T20 League with Montreal Tigers.

"The amount of games we have, he is playing continuously all of those. He went to Canada, now back to Sri Lanka. Now that he has got the captaincy in the World Cup, I think he is now totally focused on cricket. It's a big deal for us. There is never any doubt about his ability," he added.
BCB boss opined that there was no better option than Shakib for the captaincy role as the pressure will be high in the World Cup stage.
"Pressure is a big thing. World Cup pressure and pressure in bilateral series is different. So to handle that pressure in the World Cup, I think there is no-one better than Shakib," he added.
