27 Mar 25Shakib Al Hasan returned as Fortune Barishal captain to change their fortunes as they defeated Rangpur Riders by six wickets in their first BPL victory. Rangpur set up a decent 159, which they chased down with four deliveries to spare.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who played in Bangladesh's previous white-ball series, shone with both bat and ball and was duly named player of the match.
Miraz led the team in bowling with two for 21. Later, he was promoted to number four after captain Shakib chose to sit out.

Miraz added 84 with Ibrahim Zadran (52 off 41) and contributed 43 off 29 (five fours). Karim Janat (21* off 14) and Iftekhar Ahmed (25* off 18) were the foreign recruits who performed the last rites.
Rangpur had previously reached 158 thanks to Shoaib Malik's fifty and Rony Talukder's enterprising 40 off 28.
Chaturanga de Silva took two wickets, while Shakib, Ebadot Hossain, and Janat each took one.
