Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)'s governing chairman Sheikh Sohel has welcomed Shakib al Hasan to be the CEO of the next season of BPL.

Recently, Shakib has raised queries about the arrangement and mismanagement of the franchise-based tournament against the board. He also challenged the board stating that it would take 1-2 months for him to change the overall outline of BPL.

In response to such a claim BPL's chairman stated that Shakib can start his work from the next edition of the tournament.

"Shakib Al Hasan is welcome to be the CEO of BPL from the next edition. We appreciate his thoughts. If he wants to become the  CEO of BPL, he will be appreciated by the governing body. If he wants, he can takeover from the next year and perform the duties of CEO," Sohel told the media on Friday.

Shakib had said that the Dhaka Premier League was better run than the BPL competition.

"This [what Shakib said] is not discomforting. Earlier I was talking to Shakib. Talked to Mashrafe [Bin Mortaza[ as well. We are members of the same family and there can be differences of opinion,”

"If someone says it they can. From what I see, Shakib often doesn't play premier division (Dhaka Premier League] matches. But till now he hasn't missed a BPL fixture. I don't think it's an argument” he added.

When asked whether stars like Shakib and Mashrafe Mortaza should raise questions about the tournament or not, BCB secretary Ismail Haider Mallick said, "If anyone wants to question… they can. If I counter the question and say why Shakib missed Premier Division games but he never missed any  BPL season? So it's not really an argument,”
