Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that the Bangladesh team will appoint a new head coach before the England series, scheduled on March 2023.
Former coach Russell Domingo resigned just two days after Bangladesh lost the two-match Test series 2-0 against India at home, following a 2-1 triumph in the ODI series.
CEO stated that the board is looking for a reliable coach, with whom Bangladesh can world for the long term.

“England is set to tour Bangladesh. We will get some time during BPL to look for a new coach. We will try to get someone reliable in the national team setup before the England tour,” said Nizamuddin.

“It will depend on the situation. If we find someone, whom we feel like we can go long-term, then of course we will go long-term. The head coach of the national team should be there for a long time,” he said.
Nizam further noted that an experience and skillful coach will be considered.
“When we get all the names, then we will decide who will be the best option. We will definitely pick the best one. The board will then decide how to proceed,” he added.
Ex-Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha's name has emerged as the possible next coach. The head of cricket management, however, did not confirm it, but did not rule it out either.
