Newly-elected BCCI president Roger Binny stated the board can't decide on its own whether the Indian cricket team will visit Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup or not as the travel-related decisions are taken by the government.
The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan next year but ACC president Jay Shah has recently revealed that India will not travel to Pakistan and the venue needs to be shifted to a neutral one.

After that PCB released an official statement seeking an urgent meeting with the ACC regarding the same and threatened to pull out of the ODI World Cup set to be held in India next year.

Speaking at an event, Binny said the BCCI has not approached the government yet on travelling to Pakistan next year but eventually the central government will only decide on the matter.
"That is not BCCI's call. We need government's clearance to leave the country. Whether we leave the country or teams coming into the country, we need clearance,"
"Once we get clearance from the government then we go with it. We can't make decision on our own. We have to rely on the government. We have not approached them yet," he added.
