Bangladesh women’s team captain Nigar Sultana Joty stated that her side wants to qualify for the main round of the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup as a group champion.
The eight-team Qualifier will be held in Abu Dhabi from September 14 to 25. Bangladesh have been drawn in Group A alongside USA, Ireland and Scotland.
All three of Bangladesh's group matches will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

“Our first goal will be to qualify. Of course, we want to be champions (in the qualifiers). If we can play as a team and the batsmen can do their job properly, if we can show our bowling strength, then we can qualify,” said Joty.
“Our team has been playing together for a long time. So everyone knows about each other and have faith in ourselves. This unity of ours gave us confidence,” he added.
The squad will travel to Abu Dhabi on September 8 for a pre-event conditioning camp which will go on for five days.
