Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon has confirmed former India cricketer Sridharan Sriram will join the national team as a technical consultant for T20Is but not as a head coach.
It was earlier known that Sriram will lead the national team as the head coach for ODIs and T20Is and the current coach Russell Domingo will work with the Test side.

“We had shortlisted Sriram Sridharan. He was on our list. He is supposed to come here on 21st August. He will certainly not take over as the head coach, as he is coming as a technical consultant. He will work till the T20 World Cup,” said Papon.

“As he is working with a team in the IPL. We wanted someone who has experience with T20s. As he is involved with a franchise team that’s the reason we appointed him. Another cause is our next World Cup is in Australia. He has worked in Australia for many years, that’s why, we are taking him as a technical consultant,” he added.
Sriram worked as an assistant coach of the Australia cricket team for six years since 2016 and has also been involved in the coaching staff of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sriram had featured in eight ODIs for the India national side between 2000-2004.
