Taskin Ahmed, Bangladesh's right-arm fast bowler, is fit to travel to the West Indies and play in the T20I and ODI series. Taskin's availability for the tour's white-ball cricket was jeopardized after sustaining a minor back strain during a gym workout a few days ago.
On Wednesday, in front of the national selectors and the medical team, the right-arm pacer took the nets at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium [SBNS] in Mirpur and was given the green light.
Taskin will fly to the Caribbean islands on Friday evening, while the other players in the T20I and ODI squads will depart in the morning of the same day.

“I picked the injury during a gym session. I bowled in the nets the last two days and I have done fine. The management [selectors and the medical team] is happy and I will travel to West Indies on Friday. I am overall happy with the recovery,” said Taskin to the media at SBNS on Wednesday.

“Last two days I bowled at my 100 percent. The effort was right and tried to bowl all my variants in front of the selectors and the medical officials. They are satisfied. There was no issue,” the 27-year-old added.
Taskin was unable to participate in the West Indies Test squad due to a previous injury. He was recovering from a shoulder ailment and had come to England for treatment.
The right-arm pacer has been facing injuries regularly for playing all three formats of the game for Bangladesh, which is why there is a discussion if the board should think of the workload.
Taskin, on the other hand, believes otherwise and has stated that he has no such thoughts, at least for the time being.
“I want to play all formats. Will of course inform [to the concerned] if I see and feel that I am not being able to manage. I have just now gained the fitness and it is right time for me to perform for the team. I dream to be a world class bowler and honestly it is not the time for me to rest,” said Taskin.
