When Bangladesh lost the second Test against South Africa by 332 runs in Gqeberha on Monday, many people blamed captain Mominul Haque's captaincy and batting for the defeat.

Mominul had decided to bowl after winning the toss in the first Test. The Tigers lost by a huge margin of 220 runs in that Test. After such a big defeat, the inside news comes in the media and it’s learned that the captain’s decision was changed through intervention.

Coach Russell Domingo and pace bowling coach Alan Donald wanted Bangladesh to bat first. However, two senior cricketers did not agree to bat on the first day in foreign conditions as they forced Mominul to choose to bowl.

Bangladesh returned home after a 2-0 series whitewash against South Africa on Wednesday and said that he takes his own decision as the captain.

“I have come here by myself. I have made this decision [coming in front of media] by myself. As a captain, I take all the decisions. No one insisted on me. I have that power,” Mominul said.

“The topic of the toss may have come from winning the toss and losing the first Test. New Zealand had two flat wickets in that series. We won the toss and elected to bowl and won a match” he added.
