ECB, CWI backs Ramiz Raja's four-nation series plan

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja's proposal to introduce a four-nation tournament was backed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI).


According to Cricbuzz, ECB's Chief Executive Tom Harrison said at the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the members will be allowed to organize four-nation championships at convenient windows.

It is understood that the ECB was supported by a few other boards, including Cricket West Indies (CWI) and obviously by the PCB too.


However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remained neutral over the proposal.


Raja, who has prepared a white paper for an annual four-nation meet (T20/ODI) involving Pakistan, India and England, to be held under the supportof ICC


Raja believes that revenue to the tune of $750 million could be raked in by the parent body and distributed among its members.
