South Africa have leveled the three-match ODI series in the ‘Pink Day’ as the hosts crushed Bangladesh by seven wickets at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg Sunday.
The Proteas have easily crossed the simple target of 195, thanks to experienced wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock‘s 62 runs.
De Kock was merciless, and with a half-century, he slammed the door in the visitors faces. Janneman Malan started the innings with successive boundaries against Shoriful Islam after only five came in the first two overs.
In the next over, De Kock hit Taskin Ahmed for 14 runs to put the bowlers under strain. In the eighth over, he also punished Islam with three successive boundaries as South Africa raced to 61 in eight overs.

Before Bangladesh struck, De Kock reached his half-century off 28 balls. Malan was taken out 26 runs by Mehidy Hasan, while De Kock was prey of Shakib al Hasan. South Africa reached 100 in the next over, with Kyle Verreynne (58*) and Temba Bavuma (37) ensuring the innings remained in cruise control.

Earlier, Bangladesh were reduced to 34-5 and eventually could muster 194 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Kagiso Rabada ended with figures of five for 27 runs with two maidens in his 10 overs.
Despite the early collapse, Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck the highest 86-run partnership for the seven-wicket in South Africa. The duo lifted the team after the wicket of Mahmudullah Riyad on 25 runs.
Afif played a crucial knock of 72 runs which featured nine boundaries before returning with a catch to Temba Bavuma off Rabada. Following that Miraz (38) also departed in the same over.
Opting to bat, Bangladesh lost two important wickets of Tamim Iqbal (1) and Shakib al Hasan (0) at the early stage of the game.
Then Liton Das, Yasir Ali Rabbi and Mushfiqur Rahim were also dismissed in a space of couple of overs. Liton and Mushfiq played brief knocks of 15 and 11 runs respectively.
South Africa were hampered by an injury to Parnell, who left the field with a hamstring injury five balls into his third over.
South Africa had picked only five bowlers. Rabada had already bowled seven of his ten overs in his opening spell of three for 25 and Bavuma had to rely on his slow medium-pacers and the spin of Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj for much of the innings.
