After the historic win in South Africa, Shakib al Hasan was adjudged player of the match as he said they had to take calculative risks to put a big total on the board to challenge Proteas on their soil.
The Southpaw got his fiftieth fifty today, scored a smashing 64-ball 77 runs before being trapped LBW by pacer Lungi Ngidi.
Shakib gave credit to the openers (Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das) for their opening 95 runs partnership and also his century run partnership with Yasir Ali.

The veteran shared a free-scoring fourth-wicket stand of 115 off 83 balls with rookie Yasir, whose only two previous one-day international innings had produced just one run. The sturdily-built Yasir hit 50 off 44 balls.

“When I spend 7-8 balls, I thought it was a good wicket. We had to score around 300. We got a good start through Liton and Tamim. We had to capitalise with the old ball. Yasir batted really well. His and my partnership was important. A lot of credit goes to him,” Shakib said at the presentation.
“As soon as the shine was gone, the ball wasn't doing as much as in the first ten overs. We had to take calculated risks, and it paid off today. It was important to go after the bowlers, otherwise, we would have ended with 260-270. We knew Rabada would bowl at the end, and so had to bring him early."
However, Shakib failed to grab any wicket on this memorable day as he gave 54 runs from his 10 overs.
