Fortune Barishal captain Shakib Al Hasan was absent from the picture session event on Thursday, just a day before the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final, which required captains of two BPL finalists to be framed alongside the trophy.
There was some misunderstanding because two distinct types of information were given to explain why Shakib was not present. When the Barishal media manager Sabbir Khan was questioned, he stated that Shakib had an upset stomach.
"Shakib is absent because of a stomach upset," Sabbir Khan told the journalists before the photo session. When asked if it was food poisoning, Sabbir Khan said that it was 'something like that'.

Instead of Shakib, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Imrul Kayes, the captain of the Comilla Victorians, attended the press conference. Because everyone expected Shakib to be present, Sohan was questioned about the skipper's absence.
"We had optional practice yesterday and we participated. Maybe he did gym today and that's why he couldn't come. This is why I came [to this event]. This is a decision by the management and I don't know anything more than that," Sohan said.
Asked why there were two kinds of information out there regarding Shakib's absence, Sohan replied: "As I said, this is a decision by the management. When I saw earlier, he was at the gym in the morning before I arrived here." Sohan however was certain that Shakib will play tomorrow. "Of course," he replied.
