Chattogram Challengers were defeated by Fortune Barishal by four wickets in the BPL opener on Friday. Chattogram captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz urged the batters to play with more responsibility and said it’s too early to judge any team in the tournament.
Despite grabbing four wickets for the team, Miraz's efforts were fruitless as they were defeated in their first BPL match.
“I think it was spinning a little. It would have been nice if the batters had played with more responsibility. Our team is a very good team. The players who are playing in the tournament have recently played in this format, the foreigners are also good. Maybe we need 2-1 match to settle down,” said Miraz.

“I believe they will play good cricket. If the batter play good cricket we will be able to support them. The team results rely on both batting and bowling. It’s not right to judge too early after one match, hope and will try to do something good,” he added.
Miraz heaped praises on Benny Howell's late cameo of 41 off 20 with 3 fours and 2 sixes which aided Chattogram to set 126.
“I think Benny Howell batted much better at the end. We have been able to fight at the end because of the crucial runs, ”he added.
