Shakib: It feels great to be recognized by ICC

Premier all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, who has been named in the ICC men's ODI team of the year said that it is a great sign for Bangladesh cricket. Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman sealed their spot in the ODI team of 2021.
Shakib was delighted for the recognition and said this will be a major boost for the country's cricket.
"It feels great to be recognized in this manner by the ICC. This is a very positive sign for Bangladesh cricket," Shakib told the media on Thursday.
"We have been an excellent ODI side at home and away from home over the last few years. It's a testament of how well Bangladesh have played in the recent past. It's a great sign for Bangladesh cricket," he said.
Shakib will lead Fortune Barishal in this year's BPL. The captain is expecting better pitches in the tournament, he believes that this time the curator will produce a sporting wicket.
"I haven't had a look yet but I hope that a sporting wicket will be produced this time where both the batters and bowlers will feel that there is something in for them. I hope that the tournament opener will be an entertaining match," said Shakib.
Chattogram Challengers will lock horns with Fortune Barishal. The match will be held at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
