Mahmudullah: Team like us need a set batter till the 15th over

The second match of the three-match T20I series between hosts Bangladesh and Pakistan, where the Tigers suffered an eight-wicket loss at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Bangladesh will be desperate to prevent a whitewash in the third and final game of the series on Monday, after suffering two straight defeats in the series. Bangladesh enters the game after a poor showing in the just concluded T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh was once again showed a poor batting display like yesterday, scoring only 108 runs in their first innings, which was 19 runs short of the first T20I.
They started well in defending the low total but gradually gave up the intent with lost catches and careless fielding.
Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah speaking on the game following the defeat emphasized on the need for a batsman to play deep into the innings.
“We had a good start. Afif (Hossain) and Shanto (Nazmul Hossain) batted well. Me and Shanto were trying to get a partnership going but didn't capitalize in the last few overs," said Mahmudullah.
Bangladesh could only add 44 runs in the remaining 10 overs of the innings, their lowest second-half score in a T20I.
"I think a team like us need a set batter till the 15th over, we didn't do that,” said Mahmudullah.
There were two dropped catches, one by Saif Hasan of Fakhar Zaman at mid-wicket and the second by Taskin Ahmed at short fine leg of Rizwan.
“Boys are putting in a lot of effort at training, taking catches, doing all the things right but are missing chances during the game,” said captain.
