Bangladesh batter Yasir Ali Rabbi on Monday admitted that Bangladesh batters are not confident and courageous enough to play big shots in wickets like Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
Mirpur’s wicket has always been difficult for batters as they struggled to score in all three editions - Test, ODI and T20. It also affected their batting skills and performance as the right-handed batter said they are not brave enough to deliver big shots in such wickets.

“I will not blame the Mirpur’s wicket only, though the wicket is responsible. Alongside the wicket, our mentality is also responsible, we don't have the courage to play big shots when the wicket is bad. I would say there is some fault too. Although, there were sporting wickets in the NCL,” said Yasir.
“Courage is much more important. You can never hit six without courage. I think this is a very important thing for a batsman, he has to have the courage to hit six,” he added.
Bangladesh cricketers have already begun their training camps ahead of the Pakistan series which is set to begin on November 19.
Bangladesh and Pakistan will play three Twenty20 Internationals at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on November 19, 20, and 22 respectively.
Following the T20Is, there will be a couple of Test matches. While the first Test begins on November 26 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the second Test begins on December 4 at Mirpur.
