Mahmudullah: Soumya being considered for opening or number three

Bangladesh T20 captain Mahmudullah Riyad stated batting all-rounder Soumya Sarkar is expected to open for the side or he might be seen to play at number three in the seventh ICC T20 World Cup which gets underway in Oman and UAE.
Soumya did not perform well against Oman A, but he batted better in the official warm-up games. He was also great with the ball and his thrifty spells, he also provided breakthrough in the team's need.

Soumya will be leading in the hunt for a spot versus Scotland because of his all-around performance.
"Soumya has batted very well in both matches and he was also good with the ball. Now his game depends on the coordination of the team. He is also being considered for the opening or number three. Tomorrow you will see how our team will be,” said Mahmudullah at the press conference.
Mahmudullah also revealed that Bangladesh will not play additional spinners against Scotland. Besides, the Bangladesh T20 captain confirmed that the Tigers will play the same XI of the Australia and New Zealand series.
"We will not play with additional spinners. The team will likely be the same team played against Australia, New Zealand for tomorrow's match (against Scotland),” he added.
