Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman bowled extremely well in the just-concluded Australia T20I series as New Zealand head coach Glenn Pocknall is looking for a way to stop the cutter master.

Mustafiz is a threat to any team in Mirpur's slow wicket. So the Kiwis are doing homework to tackle the Tiger left-arm bowler.

“He bowled outstandingly well. It was pretty special to watch how well he executed his deliveries. I think he is a threat as much as the other Bangladesh players. We have had a good look at him and discussed how we feel we can target him,” said Pocknall.

“But it comes down to how we can execute it in the games. Trying to put him under pressure and do something different is the aim against him,” he added.

Pocknall was named as Gary Stead's successor for the T20Is in Bangladesh and the ODIs in Pakistan before Shane Jurgensen takes over for the Pakistan T20Is. Bangladesh toured New Zealand last march to play three ODIs and T20Is and got whitewash but the acting coach admits this time they’ll play in a different condition and they have analyzed the situation.

“We managed to see quite a lot on Youtube. Bangladesh were also in New Zealand and although it was different conditions, we certainly have enough information to arm ourselves with how they think they will play against us,” he added.

The first of the five T20Is is set to take place Wednesday behind closed doors in Mirpur. The remaining matches of the series will take place on September 3, 5, 8 and 10 respectively.
