Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed its scheduled training camp and the release of the Pakistan team for their next three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, which will be contested in Sri Lanka next month, according to reports.

The Pakistan cricket team was expected to begin training in Lahore today (Saturday), however due to the ongoing turmoil in Afghanistan as a result of the Taliban's takeover, the PCB is awaiting clearance from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) about the series.

According to PTI, the ACB has yet to announce when its players will leave Kabul for Colombo, as well as the match schedule.

"Once they give us the complete travel plans and itinerary we will have the camp and also release our squad," a PCB source was quoted as saying in the report by PTI.

The ACB is also in talks with Taliban authorities and US forces who are in charge of all aircraft in and out of Kabul airport, according to the article.

The series, which is set to begin on September 3, has been moved to Sri Lanka from the United Arab Emirates, where Afghanistan's home matches are held because the UAE's venues are being readied to host the Indian Premier League.
