The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has to deal with alternative cricketers if any cricketer of the Bangladesh national team gets injured or withdraws from the series as BCB is forming a shadow team to solve this problem.

The name of that team is “Bangladesh Tigers”. The cricketers will have the same position as the national team in this alternative side.

From that team, the necessary cricketers for the national team will be considered. In addition, cricketers outside the national team are often deprived of training facilities. The cricketers of this shadow team will get the full benefit of practice in whole calendar year. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon announced this after the board meeting on Tuesday.

“A few days ago we told you about a Shadow National team. That too was approved by the board today. We are going to create a shadow national team called Bangladesh Tiger,”

“You may know the background of it, but I will say it again. If those who play in the national team do not get a call in a series ... For example, Sometimes few players like Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar who don't get called up to the national team cannot use our facilities properly. It's a big problem. So we want all the players to be fit. That's why we have decided to begin this project.” said Papon.

BCB boss clarified the meaning of this shadow team as he said this team will always have the access to the training facilities and this team will provide the necessary position players if anyone from the national side gets injured or withdraw from the series.

“Training will continue the whole year so that if any player of the national team gets injured, we can get a replacement. They will train under local coaches with clear instruction from the head coach. Whatever happens now, suppose there is not a single player in the opening position or will not play due to injury or for any reason. Then we try one by one like a trial,”
