Bangladesh Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for three matches of Dhaka Premier League and fined BDT five lakh by Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), following his inappropriate on-field behavior during a match between Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club in Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League T20 match Friday (June 11).
Shakib has been punished for violating level-3 of the code of conduct. For the first misconduct, one match ban and fine two lakhs taka and for the second phase, two matches ban and three lakhs taka fine have been imposed.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance (HP) Unit chairman Naimur Rahman said on Sunday this is sad for cricket.

“It is unfortunate for cricket. Nothing is hidden. I have seen what you have seen. Everyone's personal view for justice. Who sees from which direction is to be considered” said Naimur.
During that match, umpire Imran Parvez denied an LBW appeal, the southpaw lost his cool and was spotted kicking the stumps in frustration while engaged in a heated conversation with the umpire and later uprooted the stumps with his hands again after the umpire called a halt to the game in the sixth over owing to rain.
Meanwhile, it has also been seen that the left-hander was also involved in a heated discussion with the Abahani coach Khaled Mahmud who also happens to be the BCB Director.
However, Shakib is coming to a press conference to clarify his position as his club Mohammedan will hold a press conference at club pavilion on Monday (June 14) at 3:30 pm. The poster boy of Bangladesh set to join virtually in that conference, confirmed by club officials.
