DPDLT20: Abahani back in winning streak as Mahmudullah leads Gazi to victory

After 4 consecutive wins, Prime Bank tasted the second defeat in Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Abahani came back victorious after losing the previous match against Mohammedan. The titleholders defeated Prime Bank by 30 runs in a rain hit match on Sunday in Mirpur.
Abahani made 183 for 3, relying on Munim Shahriar's personal and league-highest 92-run innings. In reply, Prime Bank needed 174 runs in 19 overs in a rain-affected match. Chasing that run, Prime Bank could not score more than 143 runs for 6 wickets. Tamim scored 51 off 41 balls as his fifty goes in vain.

Despite losing the match, Prime Bank has retained the top spot. Prime Bank is at the top with 12 points after 6 wins in 8 matches. Abahani also has 12 points in equal wins and losses in equal matches. Prime Bank tops in run rate.
In another match in BKSP, Gazi Group captain Mahmudullah shined as he scored an unbeaten 58 on the day of defeating Khelaghor Samaj Kalyan by 5 wickets.
Gazi Group lost the track to chase the target of 139 runs to win. In the first two overs of the innings, two openers Sheikh Mahedi Hasan and Soumya Sarkar returned to the dressing room. Both of them returned with zero runs. Roni Chowdhury returned Sheikh Mahedi, Mehidy Hasan Miraz returned Soumya.
Mahmudullah, who picked up a half-century off 44 balls, was unbeaten on 58 in the end. Besides, Ariful Islam made 17 runs from 10 balls. Miraz took two wickets and Rony and Khaled took one wicket each.
Earlier, Khelaghor’s Masum Khan scored 59 off 36 balls and Farhad Hossain’s 15 off 20 balls helped to put 138 runs on board. Mominul took two wickets for Gazi Group and Mehidy, Nasum Ahmed and Mukidul Islam took one wicket each.
